IT is often said that ‘football is a funny old game’. And this match at Riccarton proved that theory to be bang on as Heriot-Watt University and Spartans served up a thriller.

In front of a healthy crowd, Spartans raced into a three-goal lead before the home side hit back early on in the second half. Two quick-fire goals gave the visitors a 5-1 lead but the students rallied again with a couple of further counters to make it an uneasy end to the game for Mike Lawson’s men. Read more »
